About this call
Language and literary discourse act as pivotal mechanisms through which power structures are articulated, subverted, and reconstructed. Women, Words, and World: Gender Studies in English Literary Discourse provides a high-level academic platform for rigorous, interdisciplinary research investigating the complex intersections of gender, textual expression, and socio-cultural paradigms. This peer-reviewed volume aims to bridge contemporary literary theory, discourse analysis, cultural studies, and intersectional feminism. By focusing on Women (subjectivity, agency, and socio-historical identity), Words (narrative strategy, stylistics, and linguistic politics), and World (globalization, spatial politics, and postcolonial environments), this publication seeks high-quality chapter contributions that push the boundaries of conventional gender discourse in English literature.
**Scope & Thematic Tracks** We welcome theoretical, empirical, and analytical original research chapters spanning, but not limited to, the following thematic tracks:
Track 1: Feminist Poetics, Canons & Textual Politics Re-reading classical, Victorian, and early modern texts through contemporary gender theories. *Subversion of patriarchal codes, canonical revisions, and counter-narratives. *The evolution of female authorship and literary aesthetics across centuries.
Track 2: Intersectionality, Postcoloniality & Marginalized Discourses Intersectional dynamics: Gender at the nexus of race, caste, class, ethnicity, and migration. *Postcolonial female agency, subaltern studies, and indigenous/regional women's voices in translation. *Transnational feminisms and global anglophone literatures.
Track 3: Linguistics, Discourse Analysis & Media Studies Stylistics, pragmatics, and sociolinguistics of gendered narratives. *Voice, silence, and linguistic representation of trauma, resistance, and identity. *Digital humanities, cyber-feminism, contemporary pop culture, and social media discourse.
Track 4: Spatial Politics, Queer Studies & Ecological Feminisms Ecofeminism, environmental justice, and non-human agency in literary texts. *Deconstructing the gender binary: Queer theory, non-conforming identities, and fluid masculinities/femininities. *Spatial politics, bodily autonomy, and domestic vs. public spheres in literature.
Submission guidelines
- Submit your manuscript as a Word file (.doc or .docx). PDFs cannot be typeset and are not accepted.
- Include an abstract, 4 to 8 keywords, and full author details with affiliation and ORCID where available.
- Work must be original and not under review elsewhere. All submissions are screened for plagiarism.
- Reference style is consistent within a chapter; APA is preferred but any standard style is accepted.
- You receive a reference number on submission and can track review status without an account.
- The publication fee is ₹3,500 per chapter, payable only after acceptance. Submission and peer review are free.
